Therapy

  • Trauma informed

The impacts of trauma are not always obvious, even to ourselves. The Conscious Living approach is sensitive to the signs and symptoms of trauma, and we can help you recognize, understand, and process acute or complex traumatic experiences.

  • Welcoming

We welcome you as you are, whether with conscious preferences and identities or in a process of exploration. We consider it our professional responsibility to educate ourselves about the lived experiences of diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, spirituality, ability, mental processes, and more.

  • Receptive

Your feedback is essential to our success in therapy. You are the expert in your own life, and we are careful to respect your autonomy at every stage of the therapeutic process. We are committed to receiving and responding to information that can improve your experience in therapy.

Individual Therapy

Conscious Living Psychotherapy offers ongoing, in-depth therapy to help you address challenges that feel beyond your understanding or control. Please take a moment to reflect on the following question. If you woke up tomorrow morning to a miracle, and all your problems had been resolved, how would you know? What would be different in your life? How would you feel towards yourself? How would you feel towards others?

We tend to become stuck ruminating on all that has gone wrong. It is adaptive, in a way, to keep our attention on that which feels like a threat. But problems are a part of life, not all of it. Individual therapy is not just a place for problems, it is also a place for imagination, hope, and celebration of the small successes around the corner.

Couples therapy

All of life is relational. If relationships are working, life can be brighter, gentler, and more fulfilling. If they are struggling, so are we. This is especially true in our relationship with partners, for those are the relationships in which we are most vulnerable — to healing or harm. Through Conscious Living couples therapy, let that which you are exposed to be healthy for you. Let your relationship heal the wounds of your past instead of recreating them. Let your relationship with your partner(s) enhance your life by learning how to give and receive support, and how to be your authentic self in the presence of another. Conscious Living couples therapy will help you get your needs met in your relationship. We will also help you discover what responsibilities you can relieve your partner of holding.

Family therapy

Families are complex systems, calibrated over time to function predictably. So what happens when someone or something changes? When the family starts struggling, it may be easy to point to a single point of disruption. A person may be entering a new stage of life, changing their personal identity. Someone may be struggling with unsafe, harmful impulses. A bond may be changing, like a divorce, marriage, or a violation of trust. But the reason you are coming to family therapy is not because one person is struggling, it is because the whole system is in a form of chaos. It is no longer working predictably, which provokes fear, stress, anger, and sadness. When working with families, the Conscious Living approach will help all of you navigate these emotions, come up with creative solutions to re-calibrate the system, practice trial and error, and in time, learn a new way of being together that is both predictable and functional for all.
